NEWS - Policy

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India is preparing a 10-year plan to protect birds and conserve their habitats. The draft plan proposes, amongst others, actions to conserve migratory birds, wetlands, and birds in urban spaces. The document has been put in the public domain for consultation and comments.

A recent news article in Times of India ( highlights the issues surrounding the intensive collection and trade of Caterpillar Fungus (Ophiocordyceps sinensis) in Uttarakhand and the Himalayan region. The article has been published in several other national news portals as well.
